Our Story
It All Started With A Recommendation
Nearly 30 years ago when Reggie was working as a maintenance manager at Pepsi Bottling, he was traveling to Louisville, Kentucky with a contractor who was working on a capital expenditure project in the bottling plant. They were looking at a new stretch wrap machine. On the plane ride, this contractor asked if he had heard of this book call, "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People."
Once Reggie got passed taking the recommendation personal, he devoured the book and caught the leadership enthusiast bug. He eventually became certified to facilitate Stephen Covey's, Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, First Things First and Principle Centered Leadership internally at Pepsi, which was added to his other side hustle of facilitating in the Pepsi University program where he educated non-manufacturing leaders about the world of production, quality assurance and maintenance
This passion lead him in his work at Earthlink where he added another leadership guru John Maxwell's books to his toolkit. He ultimately met Maxwell, traveled to various parts of the world, facilitating several of his leadership workshops and contributed to his second 5 Levels of Leadership book. It was this passion that came from Covey and Maxwell that lead to Reggie launching out in 2004 and starting the business that would ultimately become Lead Strong. Since that first book, Reggie hasn't stopped reading and trying to master this thing called coaching and leadership developing.
